Default American Lessons for Ford Nation

Well it started off as trying to poke fun at Ronan, then it turned into an analysis of how a "divide and conquer" strategy could put Olivia Chow in the Mayor's office. (It's not really a strategy! - Ford Nation is just drinking the Kool-Aid):

If Ford gets re-elected wouldn't counsel will just make him powerless again.

Good point, but we all know he is never ever going to step aside. Ford or Chow - lord help us all.

Doubt so. Ford's re-election would send a very clear signal to councilors to sit down, shut up and stay out of the way.

Not if "Ford Nation" can prevent hi enemies on council from being re-elected.

His camp will probably start their own smear campaigns on those councilors
that are against him.

For some of us on the outside, it looked like a 3+ year witch hunt.

It will be interesting to see what John Tory does. If he throws his hat into the ring, then yes, there will be vote splitting with Ford. Worst case scenario for Toronto is if that twit Chow gets elected. God help us all. She will probably rename City Hall, "The Jack Layton Building of the People".

Oh boy, this is a can of worms. I could go on about this forever, but this is my last post on it.

"For some of us on the outside, it looked like a 3+ year witch hunt."

No doubt... but man, how much of that has been self inflicted???

This last one has me completely baffled. Sooooo... you've been raked over the coals and right or wrong, the eyes of the world are watching you, and you show up at a local burger joint drunk and then go on a rant in Jamaican slang. Uh ya.

Anyway, over and out.

You guys think you may have it bad there, but at least you don't have the mayor of Sochi doing double duty as mayor of Vancouver here.

Of course Ford is never going to back down. He reminds me of the Black Knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail:

(the Black Knight has both arms and one leg cut off)

Black Knight: Right, I'll do you for that!
King Arthur: You'll what?
Black Knight: Come here!
King Arthur: What are you going to do, bleed on me?
Black Knight: I'm invincible!
King Arthur: You're a loony.

It's Ford Nation that has to be convinced that in order to get what they want, "Low Taxes", they have to throw Rob Ford under the bus. If they don't they split the votes on the right and end up with Olivia Chow. Once a strong candidate for the right comes forward, (John Tory what are you waiting for?) the other more serious contenders also on the right will support Tory in exchange for a seat at the table, rather than be battling up hill for four years with Chow.

But it was only another drunken stupor, nothing to worry about. It's not like he killed someone.

It looks like Norm Gardner is going to run for mayor.
If Chow gets in her first order of business is to put a bike lane on the DVP/Gardiner (probably the left lane).
