Default Whos ice skating today?

Everyone ok? Lots of downed trees in my neighbourhood. I've lost lots of branches and such, but luckily none of my large trees have come down so far. So I took a drive to see the carnage and get a coffee. Due to power failures, my favorite coffee shop was blacked out, so I grabbed some fresh bagels and had coffee and bagels at home with my wife. We are praying that none of our largest trees come down on either our neighbours or our house.
Goodluck to all today!

Lots of ice and tree limbs coming down. GTA west end, it's the lack of power since 9:30 pm last night that's starting to get old fast!! Hydro Twitter feed says up to 72 hours without power possible.

It took us all day (on and off) to clear the driveway. 2" of ice pellets on top of 3/4 of an inch of solid ice. Luckily I was able to get the edge of my steel shovel under it and rip it up off the asphalt. Hard work, but I have everything cleaned off. Luckily we didn't l;ode power.....yet.
Hydro One currently shows 883 power outages, Yikes!

Cable outage all day here in S Burlington . It just came back 1/2 hr ago. We back onto a forested area and all day there's been cracking and sounds of limbs falling. We have a lot of ice.

power gone in richmond hill at same time... also my suv which is parked outside completely covered in ice.... had to manually get the garage door open to use the other car.... and the hot water tank no longer working correctly.

at least we figured out how to turn on the fireplace (never used it since moving in)

hope everyone keeps safe... its very sad to see all the trees looking lifeless with snapped branches everywhere.

Lots of ice and snow up here, north of Barrie.
Beautiful landscapes.
We're serviced by Hydro One too and, surprisingly, have not lost power (we get lots of outages). Good luck and hope you get power back soon.

Everywhere is like a ice rink but it wasn't too bad here. We saw rain but it got cold enough to turn to snow and hail before the trees got too covered in ice.

I was working today. I had power when I left the house, drove from Mimico to Scarb. for a service call. The roads were o/k at 8 am. Downed trees everywhere. Power out all over the city.
My personal truck was caked in ice. I had the bright idea of speeding up the ice removal process by using my plumbers torch. It worked o/k on my work van and the side windows on my Tahoe. The windshield not so much. There was an inch of ice by the wipers. Lets just say I'm the biggest idiot in the world. Now I have a crack right across the windshield from end to end.
When I got home at 4 the power was off.

Officially 24 hrs without power now, July '13 all over again! They are saying they "hope" to have it all done by Christmas day GTA west end. Not fun with an 18 month in the house and all family members houses in the same boat!
