There so many options.
Flat Stoppers, rubber mats, styrofoam etc...

Mostly because I've got so much darn work to do!!!! Will revive my previous thread if I ever get the time...

cams, head rebuild, gearbox rebuild, 7:31 ring/pinion, the list goes on... still haven't solidified the list, but that's in the works!

Cheers,

Jonathon

Where are you guys getting the styrofoam/rubber? I've never put anything under the tires of my stored cars... Is this for non-heated garages?

Thanks,
Mark

Personally, I've never put anything under my tires, with the car parked on cement. I've never had flat-spotting issues.

They're cheap enough that they're pretty much disposable, if you can get 3 or 4 years out of them. Heck, you could probably get all your money back if you parted it out. If only the 944 came in AWD
Ran my 914 all year including snow. Key is to get narrower tires and GOOD snow tires with an agressive pattern for snow. MAKES a huge difference. I even got snows for my Audi's. On that car even cheap snow tires makes a big difference.

The traction control on the Touareg is so good, I had no issues last winter at all. In fact it was boring and wouldn't even power slide. It kills engine power when you are slipping so you cannot even accelerate faster than the traction available. Thankfully there is a switch to turn it off!

Great thread -- I am in Alberta and I stored my car on oct 1.

Did an oil change, filled up the tank and put an extra 5lbs in each tire. Covered and called it good.

It is stored in my detached non-heated garage -- is it worth me doing the styrofoam treatment under the tires? First time I have seen this.

Styrofoam?? you should really put 4 virgins under the tires as its a Porsche after all

You guys kill me with the foams, anti fatigue mats etc

At least in the spring the virgins can be recycled for other purposes
