I wouldn't suggest you start the car unless your gonna drive it, and get the oil up to operating temps. 50 psi your tires and you'll not get flat spots.

This is correct! I got mine at Performance Improvements in Brampton as they had them in stock.

I try to wash it and park it in the far side of the garage. Cover it and put a CT tender/charger on. Last year, I didn't get the tender on until January or February, and the battery was done. I have several batteries that need tending over the winter. Oil Change in the spring for me.

(oh yeah, stabil, and an extra 10psi in each tire)

This is my 1st year as well storing my car for the winter. My routine so far after much reading is
-filling the tank with Shell 91 and stabilizer
-change the oil and inflate tires
-connect battery maintainer
-wash car inside and out
-cover car

I also purchased these car dollies from Princess Auto so I can move my car around my garage if I need to. I'm also considering covering my tailpipe and intakes as well.

Is it ok to plug a battery maintainer into the cigarette lighter as opposed to the actual battery?

might want to tape a reminder note overt he ignition, wouldn't want to forget to remove them in the spring.

+1. Never know when a nice day will poke it's head out and you can go and get a 'fix'

You're not crazy. Any storage less than six months should not require anything. And you can drive it on that day that pops up once in a while.

Nope, not crazy. Even 4 months of storage doesn't require a huge amount of prep... Maintaining the battery is the most important thing so that your car will start in the spring. New vehicles sit in factory compounds and dealer lots for months sometimes with little to zero attention. The really diligent dealers will have solar battery maintainers that they rotate through the inventory and they might have a lot guy clean them off and move them around every 30 days.

This way you can keep your DD in the garage without having to clear off the two feet of snow each time it snows.

Awesome advice!!!! LOL

I just leave my plugged in all the time. Use the nocos everyday as I don't drive the cars that much unless its to the track or a nice day for a drive. It does help extend the battery life. Before I was replacing a battery every two years as there is always battery drain from the alarm and gps units.

So I was told not to put stabilizer in the fuel but to fill tank fully to 100% capacity of good shell premium fuel (No need to add anything this way). . It’s parked now for storage... was this a big mistake on my part?

6 months. And I fuel it up with a empty tank, so all fuel in now is fresh from first week of October.. I was understanding from this person, as long as tank is totally full with good fuel and no air. It will be fine ..
