Default I hope everyone in Toronto's ok! (and their cars!)

Just saw a pic on facebook of a Ferrari driving through downtown with water up above the windows.

It's times like these I love living on the escarpment.

I was stuck on the QEW for over two hours with the wife, kids and mother in law. Drove thru some seriously deep water downtown. All in it was 4 hours to get home after a day on the island.

Luckily not in the Porsche or my SAAB, that would have been bad news.

Crazy drivers on the QEW going the wrong way, it was nuts.

This is the first time I atually gave my wife's Santa Fe praise. That piece of junk Hyundai drove thru water close to 3' deep and didn't leak or stall out. My knuckles are still white.

Hope everyone else is safe as well.

Rental power industry.... just got home from the office. Apparently 2am after a storm is the best commuting time - 401 was fantastic! It was kind of nice being in the office... backup power generators meant now power outage, high elevation for my 911 to sit in a safe parking lot away from floods, and coworkers who brought me food!

Adamant... my parents have a Santa Fe as well (2008 I think) and are constantly impressed with what it goes through! They tow boats and trailers with it, take it off-road, haul everything they can think of... it's a good car that they don't have to worry about, and the dealership has been great too.

Hope all are ok too. I knew there was some bad weather (not this bad!) But had cars washed and parked in indoor parking the day before. Drove Cayenne through some fairly good watet but high clearance was adequate. It was dirty anyway,no surprisingly clean

Guy said it was already a write of and had a flight to catch so he just left it there.

Had to make a few detours on the way back to the beach from downtown. Saw a beemer stall in the water on Eastern (I had to cut through the Post Office parking lot) and a streetcar at Queen and Kingston Rd stalled.

Not much clearance in a lowered 993.....

My M.I.L. is in a seniors residence in Etobicoke and apparently the elevators aren't working and the hair salon was flooded. She says theres' panic everywhere and it's not because of the elevators.

Minor flooding in basement and power still out at home from 5:30 pm last night estimated fix tomorrow morning some time. Not a fun start to the week! Car got one hell of a wash sitting in the driveway. Etobicoke got hit fairly hard total rainfall wise.

The car is safe, but my house, along with most of Etobicoke, has been without hydro for 25hrs now. I want to start punching stuff haha!!
