The 2003 blackout was 3 days long.
And that was everything out for10 million people.
I only started to worry when all the beer got warm

Jim was out fixing stuff today, not much damage - a few banners were re-glued to the walls and some down near 2C and station 3 were replaced. I heard a tent was damaged and removed somewhere on the infield. Thank God Palmer Audio hadn't begun the Lakeshore wiring yet (they leave it to Thurs) so at least the wiring wasn't underwater. The damn (ex) G20 walls have less drain holes then the old ones which is why there was so much water on Lakeshore trapped between the walls.

I got caught under the Gardiner. Water started at about 2-3 inches then rose. I was extremely paranoid but the car made it through like a champ. Had to clean some toilet paper off the front bumper when I got home though. Eww.

LOL, the beer is sooo warm, along with everything else in my fridge.

2003 was a real disaster. The last 32 hours came pretty close! My biggest gripe with Toronto Hydro was the lack of communication, misleading info on their website and the irrelevant voicemail message on the 800 number that wasn't changed from last Saturday. Needless to say our area is back up as of 130AM this morning. The AC is on, so I'm happy.

Thanks Mark! I just drove to the office down Bloor; it appears that a whole bunch of communities are still without power right up to Jane. Islington, Royal York, Prince George, and Old Mill. Crazy!!

Mine was off for 6 hours Monday night and my cable was off till 8PM last night. Too many outages due to lightning strikes; I know the guy that fixed it.

I do have a generator that I have used a few times this year as we have had a few hydro outages in the past few months. If it lasts over 7 to 8 hours, I pull it out and run it for about an hour to get the fridge & freezer cold again. I have also plugged in a few neighbours as well. To me this is worth it over the $$$'s lost over spoiled food. Costco sells one that puts out close to 25 Amps which is more than enough to power both ... as well as a few lights and charge devices that need it. It's about $350 ... best insurance...
