Fair question, given my previous statement!
You are trying to sell a car that has 3 relatively strong deterrents against it:
- It does not have an engine;
- it has suffered through a hail strorm (I'm genuinely sorry for you as it was no fault of your own); and
- I understand it has been tracked and while being tracked at high 'g.x', it suffered starvation or some other conditions.
It is very hard to sell a car with the above pedigree and it is even harder to put a price on it. Someone mentioned $18k, I was rather lower because of the above, but that's only my opinion, FWIW.
I'm glad for you that you have some baits already.
If I may, there is one more option for you though: If the rest of the car is as good as you portray, I would not try to pass this 'sans-engine' Porsche to someone else but instead, install a new engine in it ($24k + $25k for the engine = average value), and keep it for the future to do what you do best at Tremblant or wherever your new engine takes you.
Doing anything else is like passing your misery to someone else and that misery is worth less than $24k ... Oh! Here I go again!
Bonne chance, mon gars!

I've got a motor set aside for me at $7000 so $24,000 is probably a little inflated as far as pricing goes on motors (unless you want a new one).

Only problem? I don't have $7000 kicking around or I would already gladly have put a motor in it and at the very least enjoyed it myself for the last year.

But yeah, I see where you're coming from its just your $$$ may be a little off (as you believe mine to be).

$24k is the price of a brand new crate motor from Porsche.

what do you estimate parting it would bring?
they made lots of 997s so no harm in doing this.
I have always wanted to part a car.

I've already parted one. It isn't fun nor is it financially viable on newer cars. Nobody wants little ***** and interior bits and the exterior bits are already pretty Knackered with hail damage. I'd guesstimate I could get $10-15k but I'd be Into it for HOURS.

How about this. $18k if you buy before my next payment comes out (July 10)
