Default Advice needed to fight red light camera notice

A few months ago my car was caught on camera going through a red light way below the speed limit in Brampton. I wasn't driving of course. I chose to take this to court but are there any tips I can use while speaking to the crown?

Um, speed has nothing to do with the ticket. Red light is a red light. You might want to ask if they want flavoured lube as they bend you over....

I understand there will not be points nor will it be assessed against your driver's abstract from a red light camera ticket, since there is no proof that you were actually driving the car, so it shouldn't impact your insurance either, in theory, it's just a fine.

So if you don't have the time to go fight the case in court, then just pay the fine and move on.

Not sure how much good it would be to fight it in court unless there is a really good explaination why the red-light camera system was in error, such as the image clearly showed the car was turning right as it entered the intersection, otherwise the car entered the intersection when the light turned red, it will be hard to argue against.

Default red light camera

I got one in the city, it's basically a large parking ticket. Doesn't affect anything like insurance, etc. I picked the early resolution option and quickly spoke to the judge and asked for a reduction. They reduced it, but only by about 100$, and that's the lowest they can reduce it. From what I seen that day with other people in the courtroom

I'm sure this isn't the case, but in order to fight it you need to admit you were driving.

Your car got a ticket. If you don't pay the licence sticker won't be renewed.

You must have been going faster than 25km/h or else it wouldn't have been triggered.
Answer me this......How many seconds into the red phase was the second picture taken (the one that shows your car in the middle of the intersection)?

As an accused, you are not compellable as a witness against yourself. You can just show up, and make the Crown prove its case. You don't even have to present argument.

Sometimes the Crown will offer a deal, so it can shorten it's docket list, but maybe not in this case, if no points are involved.

Since this intersection has a redlight camera, it means they had serious problems with redlight running collisions. Maybe now is the time stop doing that. Unless you are going a lot faster than the speed limit, the yellow phase is more than enough to stop on time.

Be safe!

Or you took a right turn, going faster than 25km/h. Your ticket should have been elimimated at the processing centre. Fight it and you'll win.

Clive, I can honestly tell you, that can't be further from the thruth. The revenue is a side effect of the system. There have been locations where the redlight collissions went down enough that the camera was completly removed.
