Penetrant to end all penetrants
So I'm embarking on a journey to clean and drop the engine on the 964.
First task was to take off exhaust parts. The nuts and bolts on the heat exchangers and cat are super rusty.
After some searching, the consensus was that AeroKroil by Kano Labs (no affiliation) is the business when it comes to penetrant. It's only available by mail order and for some reason they don't like shipping chemicals across the border
Anywho, I harnessed the power of the Google and it turns out that Aircraft Spruce in Brantford carries the stuff at a reasonable price. I hit the 4 rusted/caked nuts over a few days with AeroKroil. All 4 loosened without stripping or me breaking into a sweat.
This stuff kicks all other penetrants into a cocked-hat. I'll be tackling the heat exchangers Monday night. Let's hope they go as easily.
I'll also start documenting my adventure in the 964 Forum.

On exhaust hardware i never worry about. It and hope it snaps . Then removal is easy. For the exchangers be real carefull. I would do it after the engine was down and on a stand rotated over if i could
I think ur gonna need oxyacetaline kind of heat with a small tip torch
Good luck

I may have to try this stuff in the future, I had a hell of a time loosening the exhaust tip clamps on my car even after soaking them with PB Blaster over several days then hitting them with impact wrench, eventually had to use a propane/oxygen torch to heat the nuts cherry hot before they came off.
I like this line in their ad: "Guaranteed to penetrate, lubricate, and loosen frozen metal parts or it costs you nothing!"
