Default Found a deal too good to be true. Need your input!

I found a too good to be true deal. A 10k$ 993. The seller is in the US and wants to sell through ebay motors. Should I worry about this? Like I said, the price is just too good. So I don't know if I should trust this.

Car is located in NYC, but registered in Canada. Is that a scam?

Anyone who would buy a 993 for $10k deserves whatever they get. I would suggest that this would turn out to be a very expensive purchase.

Let me guess...the car is not available for viewing. The car is not up for auction on eBay, but he wants to do payment through eBay for "your and his protection". Classic scam. You know what they say if it sounds too good to be true...

Seriously Darth? Think about it for a moment. Even a 993 without an engine and needing a bit of work is worth more then $10K in parts alone.

By the way, some of the other scam telling buzz words to look for:
"I work 16 hours a day. Not often home. But i will ship it to you and you will have 7 days to decide"
"I prefer payment through Amazon. They will release the funds when you are satisfied"
"shipping included"

And the ones you mentioned:
"I just moved to (enter US city here, typically far south) but car is still registered in Canada"

I was browsing for a Merc. ML diesel over the week-end. Got three similar responses from Kijiji and Autotrader ads. And the SUVs were priced borderline to the "too good to be true" threshold not to generate too much suspicion.

Hoping that this would help other unsuspecting shoppers.
