Another vote for a 2010ish 997. Buying about 3 years old is generally the sweet spot for condition/mileage vs. depreciation. Really, the only time buying brand new makes sense is if you plan on driving the car into the ground, or you're ok with leasing it, which is basically the same as long-term rental, and you consider the payments to be rent.

And yes, Porsche has a history of 1st MY cars having problems.

A low mileage used car is definitely the way to go (and if you ask me, a low mileage CPO car from the US is the way to go...much better selection and cheaper).
I tend to keep my cars as long as that they don't crap out on me. I can see myself a proud owner of a 991 10 years+ from now. I have been considering a pre-owned 997 Cabriolet until just recently, as I see more of all the goodies packed in the new 991 especially the cabriolet model. My worry then would be me staring at every single 991 passing by as I drive my CPO 997.

I now have no choice but to increase my budget, hence, I would use a little break on the MSRP of the 991.

My friend just ordered a 13, June production, they gave him a 1000.00 off list.

Wow, not much of a deal. Personally, I would have walked away from that one.

I think a well maintained beautiful older Porsche is the only thing cooler than Stuttgart's latest offering.

What's the best deal that people have gotten? I'm being offered 4% off msrp and discounted winter tires on a 2014 built to order C4S. This is the first and only dealer I've spoken to and I think there's room for more. My goal is 6% with discounted snow tires and extended warranty. Share you experience guys, thanks!

Not sure that goal is going to be attainable, but if it is, I'll be impressed.

6% plus 2,000 on tires and 3500 on extended warranty!?

why don't you know just ask them to give you the car for free??

hey, comments are always welcome here and never useless, just don't want you to embarrass yourself being unreasonable.

Because ~10% is a LOT different than 100%. At least in all the math classes I took.....

Thanks 69gaugeman, I think we both recognize that he's not the sharpest tool. Anyways, if anyone else have something to contribute I would love to hear it, thanks!
