Was just at Porsche London and they do in fact have some 991's in stock. I think there was a nice red cab S. They gave me a free bottle of mobil 1 . They remembered raping me $4k for clutch and flywheel work not so long ago lol

My understanding is that dealers are paid a bonus from Corporate if they make quota on their sales targets. It can be substantial - so if it were me I'd try the smaller volume store first (read London). They may be more motivated to start making inroads into the market.
Now tell us more about what you're looking for so I can live vicariously through you.

Well, it's gonna be my first Porsche, so a total noob right there... Thinking of getting a 991 Carrera Cabriolet with PDK. I don't care much more about other options than my bottom line. It's hard to justify spending north of $120K already and no I am not a CEO or anything close to it. But I have saved up enough. One worry about the present 991 is that Porsche hasn't really ironed out 1st first model glitches. I once purschased a Volvo Xc-90 first generation at launch and it had been sending me to the shop at least 3-4 times a year thereafter, for issues from rattles, wind noises to power steering pump replacement. As far as I know, there is already a recall on the 991 and one guy on this very forum had a failed transmission on his brand new 991 at 2 miles after delivery!

FWIW I completely agree with this statement. If it were me I would spend less on a 2010 or '11 997 before a 1st year 991. Great looks and still lots of warranty.

If you tend to keep your cars for a while and need to have the latest and greatest, I'd say go for it. If you're like me and get bored of cars quickly, the advice above is good to follow. I got raped when selling my 997 C2S and 997 Turbo. Both were purchased new. A low mileage used car is definitely the way to go (and if you ask me, a low mileage CPO car from the US is the way to go...much better selection and cheaper).

I believe you can get 3-4% off a new 991 S Cab, let me know if you want to talk to my sales rep.
