Hi everyone. Yes, we do require some type of verification for orders that are large and shipping either out of the country, or to a non-registered address on the credit card. This helps to protect us against credit card fraud, and keep our prices low.
Speaking of which, the dealers mentioned in this thread sell only Genuine Porsche replacement parts - not OEM replacement parts. Our pricing on Genuine parts is at times higher than these dealers, but many of the Genuine parts we sell are part of our FREE shipping program and are often available for same-day shipment. The dealers also do not sell OEM parts which are traditionally the same quality level as "Genuine" at much lower cost. There is indeed much confusion about the difference between all of these brands, so I created an info page here to explain it all:
http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/OEM_FAQ.htm
Unfortunately for 993 owners, Porsche didn't build a heck of a lot of these cars, so the OEM and aftermarket availability is not as favorable as it is for a car like the Boxster. So, in many cases, Genuine Porsche may be the only available part.
Thanks everyone for your continued support!

I'm surprised - I've always found Pelican's prices to be more or less exactly in line with other places. Granted, I'm mostly shopping for stuff for my 72, which is much harder to find than boxster/996/997 stuff. And no doubt I'm biased, as I do spend a lot (ok, too much) time on the Pelican forums. But really, the only time I've found stuff significantly cheaper is from autopartsway, because the shipping is much cheaper since it ships from within Canada. Unfortunately autopartsway only carries common stuff like gaskets and seals, stuff like that. If I need something a little more serious (such as tranny or engine parts) they usually don't have it.

I had the same thing happen the last time I ordered a part from Ian at 944-Online.
I had bought numerous parts from him in the past without giving that info. I was a returning customer so I didn`t have send that info.
But it does make you go "Hmmm ? " Should I do this ?

915 4th gear hub, $1400 Pfaff, $135 Pelican. Way to go Pfaff, you just hit a homerun.
Just checked Sonnen, not available. In fact, they only have 5 items available for an 86, and 4 of them are floor mats.

I can if the shipping address is different from your billing address. The way around that is to register an alternate shipping address with your credit card company.

Although the majority of my orders have been with Pelican, AutohausAZ has had lower prices on a few of my orders. An injector for example; $96 vs $123. If I had to buy 2 caps and 2 rotors; $173.00 vs $202.50. Also with free shipping.

Just to clarify with everyone, the order I place was for a US ship to address with a Canadian bill to address credit card. This could have triggered the request for additional information.
