Default Fall drive 2011, final

I hope, at least.

Oct. 23: open to all makes. Departure time is 10am. Route maps will be handed out at the departure point.

Start location is Tim Horton's at 211 Louth Street, St. Catharines:

Oct. 30: Porsche only. Departure is 10am. Route maps have been sent by email/facebook. PM me if you don't have one. Maps will NOT be handed out at the departure point, so bring your own!

Start location is the same as last year's, Tim Horton's at 424 S Service Rd Grimsby (Casablanca exit from the QEW):

Saturn will be leading the Oct. 23 drive. We need a volunteer to lead the Oct. 30 drive. I'm not sure which I'll be be attending, but I'll be driving solo, and the lead car really needs to have a navigator, as there are too many turns to be able to follow a map and drive safely.

Please note that even though I'm (kind of) organizing this, I may not be at the Oct. 30 drive, so there may in fact be no organizer there! That's why I'm saying BYOM (map).

You might be right - maybe I'm confused then, but I've already sent the map out to a lot of people, so let's just leave it.

The admin stuff on morning of the drive:

- Detailed Google maps are provided at start point including all turns
- Pre-emtive talk on safety and following all traffic rules and regulations. Excercise Responsible judgement
- A quick walk through of maps and direction at start point
- Some spirited fun in between when safe (each driver is responsible for their actions)
- The map will have some addresses or weypoints so that if you get lost, those points will stir you back
- Suggest to bring a GPS
- Keep all rest stop to 20 minutes or less
- End stop has food
- Please excercise responsible driving. Please let me know if anyone in the group does burn outs, fishtails, drifting, driving on the shoulder. This should be left on the track or autocross event which I would gladly organize at another venue.
- bring your walkies if you own one. Some folks do brings theirs and the lead driver will always carry one for any updates along the drive

Specific notes on this particular drive:
- I plan to leave on time at START POINT at 10am sharp. Please note START POINT is ST. CATHERINES and is about 1hr 30mins from Toronto
- Since this is relatively short drive only 1 stop for pictures at Tew Falls. I do not believe there is a washroom there so go at start point before we leave
- So far sunny with clouds are predicted for that sunday and 11 degrees
- Fill up you gas tanks prior to the drive. If you exit on ONTARIO ST. from QEW at St. Catherines area (instead of using hwy 406) there is Shell just after you exit and Esso furthur down the road. The drive is short enough that even if you have a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport can do it on a full tank.
- I (or my wife) will be taking count who will be joining us for the late lunch. Don't be alarmed if she takes down your first name and car .... and your license plate and address....joking
