Default Castrol Syntec on sale at Canadian Tire

Castrol Syntec 5 Liter jug sizes in all weight grades are on sale this week at Canadian Tire for 30% off.

Take the flyer to any Parts Source stores and you can get price match plus 10% off as per their policy.

I stocked up enough 5W-40 to do 2 more oil changes on the Porsche which should be good for two more years, would have gotten more if not for the 1 quart bottles of the same oil on sale last week which I bought to perform my first Porsche oil change last Saturday, it almost felt religious!

Parts Source is owned by Canadian Tire. Their sales happen a week after CT's.

Need to stock up as I change the oil before I put the Beepster in storage. Need anothe 5l jug ... Thanks!

Are those the tiles what you guys use? Will have to get some.

Got the CTEK battery charger/maintainer a couple of weeks ago for $50 on sale at CT, then saw the exact same unit but with the Porsche logo on the front at Downtown Porsche for $150! Even the parts fellow admitted they are the same items, and that the Porsche logo is not worth $100.

Can you clarify which ones? There two types on sale this week, one is the "Easy Tile" at 24"x24", the other is a 4-pack "interlocking floor tiles" with different colors, probably 12"x12" each, so both will be the same foot print for the same price.

I'll go have a look anyway.

The last time I've tried it, PS wasn't willing to honor CT sales because they are owned by the same company. It was in their fine print.
But I did manage to have them eat their words once. NAPA had glow plugs on sale at a heavy discount, since PS sold the same exact ones, I walked in with a recipt from NAPA and they had no choice but to give a 75% dis**** on each plug.....bought 4. Same exact plugs were sold at the dealer for $75/ea.....I got them for $12 a piece.

http://partsource.ca/tools/privacy-policy.asp at the bottom two paragraphs.

The policy now says competitor includes Canadian Tire, I did have an issue once a couple of years ago when the store manager told his employees to tell the customers the nearest Canadian Tire is outside of the 5km radius therefore the price match does not apply....., well the policy now clearly states 20 km radius, so that excuse goes out the window for the two Part Source stores near home and work since the closes CT to each PS are well within 20 km, and I have not had any issues with sorry @$$ excuses recently other than one store didn't want to sell me 30 bottles of the quart size Syntec last week, but the other Part Source just ordered the quantity for me, no issues.

Uh what kind of plugs sells for $75 each even if it's the grossly inflated dealership pricing?!

BTW, just bought a pack of the Easy Tiles, $10 for 4 pieces of 24"x24", that's a great deal.

They are glow plugs for a diesel engines. In my cse for a Jetta TDI. Normally they are around $30 each but the dealer sell them for $75. Without them the engine won't start bellow freezing temperatures.

Yes ... my engine rebuilder recommends it for my 2002 Boxster S. I went and got a jug (1 from before) and will change the oil before I put it in storage. Castrol is recommended by many high end marquies ... even use it in my 2010 F150.

Have it in my 996t turbo. Autoworks likes it and that is good enough for me.
