Default TREMBLANT FALL CLASSIC 2011

We had a great racing weekend at Tremblant during the Fall Classic this year again. We had practices on Friday, 1 sprint and 1 enduro on Saturday and 2 sprint races on Sunday. More than 175 drivers registred in many classes (Vintage, 6 GT classes based on bracket times, G70 made mostly of 944 and finally Formula libre that counted for a regional Formula 1600 championship). In GT the fastest class (GTA) had only 3 cars as there was 3 Formula Stohr thay couldn't fit in Formula libre, but many cars in the other classes. The sprint races podium was based on the result of the 3rd race. So grid of the 1st race was based on a qualification, 2nd race grid based on 1st race position and 3rd race grid based on 2nd race position. I finished first in my class (GTB) so I had a great time !

We had great weather and the landscape was beautiful with strong colors in the trees as you can see on this video of the Enduro Race which was open to all classes except Formula Libre. I started 2nd behind a Stohr and kept that position at the finish with a lot of pressure from an RSR and a Viper ACR X in the first half of the race.

This is actually an ACR X with 650hp at the wheels. The owner let his 18 years old son race it for the Enduro. This kid has talent and won 1st in his sprint class with his 944.

That ACR X must be a handful to drive that's alot of power and I hear they make tons of torque. What kind of power does your Cup car put down.

True but let's say that they are a bit easier to drift than a 911... Didn't put my car on a dyno but with the 3,8L upgrade and the headers, it should be 470-480 at the engine.

Here is the summary of the first sprint from Saturday morning:

Started 2nd behind a Radical and finished 3rd after loosing two spots on a poor start...

So did that orange/white cup go off in 2 and then again in 8?

Subaru?!?!?!? Or was that because of the ECU mapping?

The Yellow Cup exited the track on a flat bed after this start incident. I don't know what car you are referring to in corner 8. I have been told that The Subaru has 670hp at the wheels... the driver is good but normally I should have passed him if it wouldn't be from my mistake leaving mapping to fuel economy.

That explains it.

My mistake. I meant corner 13, but I see that it was back at T2. It just looked like it was 13 (at 2:20) because the next shot, at 2:30, was Namerow, so I got confused.

Anyway, great vid

This is a summary of the final sprint race of the GT Challenge of Mont Tremblant (A-B-C Classes). I started second in class. The strategy was to have a safe start and let the car in front go for a little while, catch him back and put some pressure so he makes a mistake or destroy his tires. Things went according to plan except that before winning the race, I had a Viper hitting my rear bumper in the second lap as he was too busy driving his mirrors and blocking a Stohr Formula that was 15 seconds a lap faster than him for almost an entire lap !
