My neighbor has a cab 1 series 6 speed. Really nice if you can swing a deal for the 135 version. Might be a stretch but worth it. $800 aftermarket chip can got him up to 350HP+ in a small package with room in back for teenagers/small adults.

kool, thats what I was also thinking,
no, of course not, but the original criteria was 22k, so wasnt hoinking new anyway, but I had a quick look at the BMW site and I think wife wants me to probably pay a bit more for new in that case, but like 40k is far too much for me. so the pre-owned certified by dealers with g'tee sounds like a good idea.

I dunno how u drive, but if u need a ragtop for family use, my bro-in-law bought a jeep wrangler limited that he is happy with. It is not a sportscar but it has the ragtop function. I have a 2001 boxster s that I like, but it is my car, and not a daily driver. My BIL got the jeep because it was not comfortable with a child seat in the back, but he is a big guy

If money is no object I'd get this to match my Mas Coupe.

I'll be honest, as I'm this side of the pond, a yank tank would be kool, especially a stang, but, not for MPG
and a daily driver at that

You will be very happy with the BMW M3. I've had 2 of these (e36/e46) before the 997.
Lots of space in the back seat for a car seat and you can even put a stroller in the trunk.
You can also consider a "normal" E46 (325i/330i) if your budget is about $20k. I think you will find many good samples in the marketplace. They are very economical to operate, reliable and are not usually too beaten up like a lot of M3s. Lastly, there is less potential for subframe problems for the normal E46s.

I have shoirt listed my previous list and had a look at some real world prices,
by RWP I mean checking out some cars on AT
I've disregarded the Boxster as it is only a 2 seater,
and from the poll the M3 is looking like the hot contender.
ok, here is a list (not in order) details at end of thread
2005 BMW M3 convertibe $25k 93km
2002 Porsche 911 C4 Cab $27k
2008 BMW 1 series convertible $26k 51km
2008 VW EOS $21k 68km
other than the EOS which is soming in under budget, real world prices looking not so good amd millage especailly with the M3 going over.
feel free to poke holes in my idea
Have not had a chance to check insurance so thats a big call as well as MPG
