Default Buying a helmet in Toronto?

I want to get one for my brother who is a Porsche instructor in LA so can anyone let me know where I can find them in the GTA? And any recommendations on which helmet is a good choice?

Thanks

vern1,

..... I'm just wondering if people would like to buy their own helmets?. I've motorcycled/snowmobiled for almost 15 yrs, and a helmet is kind of a personal thing. Everybody's melon is different.

As for brands, it depends on your budget. I have a Bell, full face with a chin deflector (better for open cockpit cars). Arai is probably one of the best (read more expensive) and Stand 21 is the top of the heap. Decided against Simpson after reading about some quality issues.

I'll agree with petee on that one ... I do the snowmobile and dirt bike thing as well and probably have more than a dozen helmets at home between my son and i and everybody's head is different and comfort is primordial when it comes to wearing something on your head for hours.

Just for example,my dirt bike helmet is a HJC,my car helmet is a Pyrotect and my snowmobile helmet is an Arctic Cat model ...my son's helmets are another story ... lol

Cheers !

I have a Bell Dominator, an HJC and a Stilo. Each has some advantages but the Stilo that I bought at Sports Car Boutique has the most custom fit options. I dealt with Peter and he custom fitted the Stilo for me and using different cheek pads and helmet top padding came up with a separate and equally comfortable fit for my son and myself using different padding for each of us. I highly recommend Sports Car Boutique for this custom fitting. I also had optional radio and water connections added to the Stilo and couldn't be happier with this 'system'.

www.paragoncompetition.com carries some of the nicest helmets on the market with Arai and OMP. They also carry Bell and HJC. I bought a Bell K2 helmet from them that was reasonably priced and works great.

Thank you for all the advice. I thought about it and do agree that probably doesnt make a lot of sense for me to get it for him without the ability to try it on. Given he has to go back to LA right after i see him probably best to give him the dough to buy it in LA where he can try it on. Not as much of a surprise but a more practical alternative

Thanks again
