mid engined 991 GT3?
this was posted on autoblog - not sure i give it much cred but it's an interesting idea. it's says the next GT3 may be PDK only and mid engined.

i just read the source article from 0-60 that autoblog quotes. it doesn't state it will be mid engined, just that "the engine has been moved forward slightly to give the new GT3 balance similar to a mid-engined car."
bad translation by autoblog, imo.

The economics would be staggering given the limited production. I would guess thst it would be minor as its still a 991.

Nope. You won't see the 991 on these shores until 2012.

Which is good. They still haven't released the GT4S yet.

This gives me a few years to save up for a down payment. Should be a great car, new engine and 200 lbs lighter with PDK as a option though I am sure that will raise the weight up a bit.

Porsche will tread carefully with engine layout.
Rear = 911
Mid = Boxster/Cayman
Now a Cayman GT3 might be interesting at the right price point, but I don't think they'll build it as it would be too good.
