Ahh, you appear to be staying right off of Highway 114, just N/E of the airport.

Blame the Green Bay fans, they brought this crap with them.

Better to be there than here. Just checked the radar, it's in Chatam. Should be in Cambridge in a couple hours.

I started doing weights yesterday just so I can deal with all the shoveling tomorrow. I should have opted for the PTSP (Porsche Tequipment Snow Plough).

Well you havent missed anything. There's hardly any snow in Thornhill. Pretty sure the rest of GTA is the same. Hope you get home soon.

It's coming down pretty good now. Already had about 15cm when I went out this am...looks like at least that much will be added this afternoon.

More alarmist forecasts. Both the resort and bus for my ski day got cancelled for naught. Only took 10 minutes to shovel walk in Y&E. Maybe 5"'s max of pretty light stuff.

Weather news attracts viewers/eyeballs and is very inexpensive to produce in comparison to real news stories. The more dramatic equals more viewers/better ratings equals more dough and at less cost.
I was in Syracuse in December...71 inches of snow in one week...I can just imagine the hysteria here.

CBC radio, being publically funded, has poorly reported this whole issue and has caused me a direct cost within my company.
I will admit that there is an advantage to having less volume of cars on the road, but to have all of the radio hosts calling it "snowmaggeddon" and interviewing Police with leading questions to get them to suggest "staying home", is completely unreasonable.
So, I have employees that have both stayed home and came to work. How do I deal with the division of responsibilty?
For the people who stayed home, do I pay them or have it as one of their paid sick days (that I pay for)?
For the people who came to work, do I give them an extra day off to make it fair for everyone?

What about the lost revenue to public transit and all of the service industries that rely on those commuters? Add the cost of all of the perishable foods that were stocked on the shelves in the transit stations.

What ever happened to, leave early, drive slowly and be careful on your way to work today.........
