I think the best one is the Esco although they are expensive. Here's the link to the manufacturer and their Canadian Distributors.

I have three pairs of jack stands but sadly only 1 pair can accomodate the hockey pucks like yours, the others have U shaped saddles.

Seems unlikely to slip with the weight of the car pushing down on them.

Guys, be carefull of where you put the jacks stands... there is a reason why they are shaped the way they are...

On a 944, 951, 968 or 924 you should not have any trouble locating safe and damage free placement with the regular jack stands. The regular ones fit very nicely at most suspension pick up point, like the front castor blocks or rear trailing are mount. I have no knowledge of the other series of Porsche cars however...

The picture in this thread showing the use of the hockey pucks is not an example of ideal placement... thoses point where not designed to hold the car up, altough they are most likely sufficient.

If you are seriously conisdering the use of flat top jack stands, please think carefully about where you are going to locate them.

You would not get me under a car being held up by hockey pucks that are not fixed to the jack stand somehow...

I am actually using the jack stand/hoist points recommended by porsche and by many on the 9xx board. I think that they are specifically designed to hold up the car and there seems to be some extra metal in those areas. I can not use the suspension points at this time because I am doing a major suspension overhaul including changing A-arms / caster blocks etc. I was considering using the torsion bar ends in the back wheel wells but was told it is not a great idea.

It may look a bit different then you are used to because this is a cab and the floor looks a bit different and the jack stand points are a bit different.

Ronnie , I have the same stands that mhr has in the pics on page 1. I just took a grinder to the tips on the ends of the U craddle , now there is alot of contact ( as much or more than the hockey pucks ) They worked really well on the 993 jacking location, in fact, I managed to get half of the U up inside the hole on the front jacking location, and now the weight rests directly in the center of the craddle . I can take pictures if you like.

I built a couple of stands that have a 24" raise. The ends are sliced off a 2"pipe cut in half. They are only for the rears and fit under the outer torsion bar and cup it well.

sorry for the delay, Christmas party's and all .
here are a few pics ,
the first 2 are the stands I modified with the grinder to make them as flat as possible, last pic is the stand inserted into the hole in the centre of the front jacking point ( 993 ) I shook the car pretty hard from all directions and it didn't move at all. Hope this helps

Delay no problem and thanks a bunch for the pics. I'm either going to do this or get the 3 1/2 ton jacks which have a yoke wide enough to fit a hockey puck. Merry Christmas..........

I usually just use the stand and not the extension part.
Puck fits nicely on top.
