The Chimera
Luck should never be discounted. I had pulled the rear tube and fitted polybronze bushings and pretty well guessed at the swing arm inclination. Guess what? I don't have to re-index the torsion bars. LUCKY. The front has to come down an inch though, so it's off to the spring doctor.
I spent some time with Jim this afternoon looking at this beast. And I do mean beast. Pictures don't to it justice. The wheels alone are magic. I'm really impressed with the build and the workmanship.
Good luck with the rest of the build, Jim. And as I suggested, let's schedule a party for the day you turn the crank for the first time. Would love to share that with you.

Sometimes the project I dread ends up being a walk-in-the-park. That was the case with the Vehicle Speed Sensor. The sensor is required so the PCM (computer) knows if the cars is moving and maps the parameters accordingly. I thought I had this sorted but discovered that at least 12 pulses per revolution were needed by the PCM. No problem I thought, just use the ABS at a wheel. The front would be great but a huge rotor is in the way so i settled on fitting in the rear on a banana arm. I mulled it over and thought best take it to a machine shop and have a bracket machined and welded to the arm. But that means pulling it off the car and stripping down to the raw piece. A Lot Of Work.
So instead yesterday at noon went to the hardware store and and found a PVC 1" adapter that was the perfect bore for the sensor and after the required adaptations had the job done in time for 4:00 cocktails.
It inspired me.
Also thanks to Terry for reminding me why vice grips were invented.

You see! All that was needed was your talking it through in the parking lot of the weekly GTG Saturday morning and it all came together. I hope the remainder of the "to-do" list goes as easily. Cheers,

It's behind the rotor heat shield and the aluminum of the arm itself is a great heat sink so it should be ok. Unless of course I get into enduro racing in which case all bets are off.
The last time I looked at headers was New Years Day. The left side, the difficult one, took about a dozen tries and looking at it today it may be the one. Not exactly a bundle of snakes but lots of impossible angles. This week it will get final welding.

It really comes down to physical impossibilities and I realized that if headers don't fit then perhaps it's also in order to examine the other obstacles. So I tossed the engine mounts and took stock. The 06 Vette manifolds are close but not quite there. So back to headers and cutting welds. Hopefully there isn't too much tissue damage and I got the wound tied up quick, but a zip cut wheel at 20,poo rpm cauterizes at the same time. Tetanus shots are up to date. The intake with the carbon fibre worked real well and thats almost done and the coolant recovery tank is underway.
