Default Yorkville Exotics Show

Phil Downe is starting an annual exotic car show in the heart of Yorkville. Told him I would post link to the event which is on July 10. I intend to be there with my (non ) exotic, but the GT1 which showed up at the UCR concours will be there also as well as a bunch of other Porsches and Ferraris. There is no admission charge...

The picture of the GT1 on the website is Klaus Bytzek's car (or is he still the owner??). It's one of his GT1's, to be precise, because he had at least one full spare car at the track at with him. We used to race him in the Canada GT Challenge Cup (CTGCC, 1997-2002). Best finish we ever had was second, nobody could touch the GT1...

One of the GT1's was demolished during a start at Mosport too. I believe Klaus came out of that one with a broken leg..

Had a look at the line-up on the UCR site and IMHO a more exotic grouping would include examples of every Turbo, GT2, RS and rareties such as the GT1 at the Concours....

I was kindly turned away (too bad had some decent sponsorship prepared). Apparently already had one too many funky yellow ones. I now see 3 beautiful white ones in the line up 86 Cab, 87 Cab,and 88 Targa. Still might be worth a look though. Some rare ones in the mix, especially that silver 996 with gold rims (Sorry Zookie, just yanking your chain)

I am not too close to this but my understanding is they have limited space and are trying to show one example of each model if possible.

They were looking for specific cars from the beginning.

I booked within the web link and spoke with Phil over a month ago. So it wasn't last minute...

Ya I booked as soon as it opened and didn't get in even though I have the most original, lowest mileage version of my car around. It's political but no worries. I had a great time at the Legends of Motorsports as a consolation...

IMO there was nothing political about it. if you registered a car that wasn't already registered then you got in if there already was the same car fist come first served. this was not a pca event btw. it is crazy how often it happens that someone doesn't get what they want and they want to blame it on a conspiracy.
