Default Is this some type of scam?

I posted an ad on trader for selling my boxster and I got a call from some financial firm asking for the condition of the boxster. The guy was saying he represents a firm which gives out loans to people who are not qualified for bank loans but want to buy a car. I told him I am short on time and can't talk now...
Why would some loan company calls me but not the buyer??? Sounds totally weird to me. I wonder if anybody else here get these calls.

I had that too when I was selling my car. I think they are legit (at least I think the one that called me was). Ask them for their website url for more info. Bottom line...they collect a fee from you upon sale of the car, but they offer financing to potential buyers.

i found it weird as most scams go by emails but not through the phone. The emails always goes like sending money from some funny places like the last one I got a guy saying he got money from Lehman brothers to send out

Next time he calls, tell him you're in the middle of a divorce and you're in Kabul at the moment and the car is in a locked warehouse in Yellowknife.

Classic. People who cannot qualify for bank loans shouldn't be buying a Boxster, either by themselves or through a 3rd party loan shark.

They always go away when you say, 'This is the cash price - take or leave it'.

You wouldn't believe it... Some guy emailed me he got a 2acre land out in the boonies and want to swap it for a boxster. That must be some crazy guy.

You'd be surprised to see the level of scamming we arrived at...
And I'm sure it works for a lot of the scammers...if not they wouldn't bother...
It's crazy how many emails I get when I put an add 2 sell a car!

Got another car and received more info. The scam is by a company called auto marketing group (AMG ) The skinny is pay them $500 and they guarantee the vehicle will be sold by 90 days at my asking. If not they will refund $400.

Basically, they are expecting a phone call will make them $100 easy and I think there's no way they will ever refund that $400.

I'm afraid I had something like that happen to me once when I was trying to sell my 944 S2.
