I was watching the 24 particularly to see the progress of the Audii R8s , the Manthey no.1 car, the No 9 Porsche hybrid. Of course I had a particular interest in S-G0 2400, the standard RS. Stuck and his team qualified the no 98 R8 in second and is was Audi, 1,2,3,4. Immediately the race started the Manthey no. Porsche grabbed the lead and was totally dominant until it was hit by a spinning VW. The Hybrid grabbed the lead with Stuck in second place. His car was also hit in an accident and landed on the kerb smashing the engine. The Audis began to fail and watched them remanufacture car 99 with four new rotors, new half axle and new gearbox, but it ultimately retired at 6am. Over at Porsche the hybrid had built up an unassailable lead, when the gearbox let go with 90 mins left. half the field was now covered in duct tape. S-GO 2400 soldiered on and as cars dropped out it gradually climbed up to 12th places where it finished, an amazing result for a road car up against full race factory competition. A works M3 won, whic was a good deal for MArio Thiessen who would have been in Monaco if the works team had not been sold. Its very slow to upload photos from here but I will do a few now.......
WALTER, HANS, AND THE SGO 2400 crew. ( I had dinner with a jubilant Chris Harris and Patrick SImon after the race)

My car with S-GO 2400 before it left. They were driving it back to Stuttgart, not trucking it.

There is a lot of bad news this morning. Track has has a lot of damage from the 24 and not yet sure when it will reopen. Also, because Hans crashed he decided to leave immediately, so a drive will have to wait till next time. ( I will, of course think of something......
