Default Turbo Advice

I'm close to pulling the trigger on a couple of 996 turbos but did find one that has my attention.
It's a mint condition black 2002, bone stock, one owner, 13K miles, all paperwork, but no warranty. This one is going for $47K and others I have seen seem to be at least $57K plus for low mileage from a dealer with Porsche approved warranty.
If it passes a stringent PPI with flying colors would you feel comfortable buying it, or is a warranty the only way to go with a used 996TT?
All cars I am looking at are USA based, so I am figuring I will land it for around $55K.
Thanks
Rob

if it checks out I would do it .. but just my .02c. I think the turbos are a much more robust engine than the regular 996 .

sounds like a good deal--I bought a 2003 996tt x50 power pkg with a few upgrades for $64k CDN, it has 67,000 km.

be sure to have the body checked for previous accidents but the 996tt is a very solid car and reliable. You may be able to buy an aftermarket warranty if you are really concerned. also what maintenance has been done? even though low miles it needs the belts and other service. what colour and options? X50? mods?

It has a black interior with the wood package. Not sure how I feel about that but seems strange in a 996TT. No other options.
Have not sen the car yet but per the owner it's new. He owns a dealership (Mitisibushi), and seemed sincere with zero issue for any inspections at any place from dealer to enthusiast shop.
Not a 100% sure of what was done from a service but he states it up to date. Have a VIN # so will try to check it out in advance.

An 8 year old vehicle with 20k, that's 2500 k per year, I don't think so.
How does that Tim Hortons promotion go, Roll Back the K to Win.

for what it is worth... my buddy just bought an 03 from Georgia a couple of months back with the X50 package, 18k miles for $61k USd. The car is super clean with all service and an extended warranty. (purchased from a Porsche dealership)

was he the original owner?
the wood lowers the value on these cars as it is considered undesirable.

have someone check the codes for over-revs with a code reader.

Thanks and good info. No disrespect to anyone who has the wood option but it is a strange one. So in a nutshell it's about 8K or 9K lower than a warrantied one from a dealer with the low mileage. If it checks out fine is the difference worth going with a CPO? Remember, I am out west in a one P-car dealer town along with one enthusiast shop that can work on Porsches.
