Life is FAR too short to treat a fun toy car that way.

Been driving on and off for two weeks. Still far too much gravel on the roads but it inspires me to leave more distance to the vehicle in front....

It's far too good of a car to let sit in the garage!

...potential for stone chips...atr911
My wife and I go touring in the 993 at least once a year, so it has been taking some chips. I have decided to leave them alone, and if I ever decide to sell it, then do a bumper spray. In the meantime, I won't have to worry about it, because the car isn't perfect.

Yup. That's the philosophy. Mine is in great shape, but not a concours low mileage garage queen. Drive and enjoy.

Salt dust...is that like Pixie dust?

I drive by his house at 4000+ RPM every day with my gundo hacked mufflers to remind him how much fun i'm having. :P

Salt dust? Seriously... lol

I can see the debris left over causing a potential for stone chips and such, but Salt Dust? Are the costal guys going to start measuring % of salt in the air now too? Ha ha.
Love it! Neighbour sounds like a real fun guy. One day he'll realize that not only is the car he is trying to protect aging, HE is aging, and has missed out on driving fun. Life is short folks, you'll never look back and be glad you spent less time having fun. A little dust, a few drops, a few bumps on the road, all be darned!

He's actually pretty awsome. He just loves his car and it's condition too much. When it's out, he drives the **** outta it. Actually, I think I've convinced him to get a "red headded step-Porsche" that he will drive almost daily. We may head down to the states to look at a few over the next several months.

All that said, your comments stand true. Nobody ever lay on their death bed and wish the hadn't driven their Porsche so much.

Yes and some folks look to automotive detailing as some form of Zen-like therapeutic activity.....

I used to subscribe, but getting older I realize that driving my Porsche is the real therapy!

There are some serious cars on the road today. Looks like everyone had the same idea!

Mine will come out in another week or so. I don't really worry too much about the salt - it's the sand that they dump everywhere. A chipped windshield made up my mind - I'll wait for a bit of rain and some street sweepers.

There were a bunch of P-cars out last week though.

My office window overlooks Ferrari Quebec dealer lots of action today.

no offence but Christien; I recall you saying the same thing...that you wait for a couple rainfalls to wash away the salt?

Did anyone see the article in the lastest Panorama from the couple who live in Kitchener who drove over 7K down and around the US South west and back again last summer in their Boxster? Something like 18-20 days or so - pretty cool trip with their top down for most of the trip save for a few days. Now thats getting some use out of your P car.
