I'm not looking fwd to the day when I need to part from mine. Even if I was upgrading, it would be tough. I'm contemplating a possible move to Atlanta for work. Makes no financial sense for me to bring the car down to the USA, since I could sell it here and upgrade for the same price, but dang, how could I possibly sell my first 911?!?

Does anybody have a good book to recommend on the psychology of how we get attached to their cars?

Did your wife kill you yet? Should I be calling the authorities?

No worries guys, I'll post some pics in a couple of days. Probably start a new thread.
Not a peep from the wife, she just said "you better know what you're doing". I must be doing some thing right
There really is a sense of loss when you let go of one of these. Each one is unique and has it's own personality. As I said somewhere, I really wish I could have / keep them all. Even worse in this case since it was my first one but I'll get over it.

A couple of pics from the dealer in the mean time. It's hard to tell but there's lots of carbon in the cabin and it's very classy. I wish I knew who spec'd the car cause I'd like to thank him. He did a great job.

Yeah I would love to get another Porsche .. but there is no way in hell I am getting rid of the 911 .. hense the issue ... maybe time to clean up and get rid of some other cars I have become emotionally atached to.

Gorgeous! Congratulations!

I love the subtle yellow trim and the (not so subtle) yellow seatbelts... that interior looks like a great place to be! As for the rest of the car, well, I think I'd be preaching to the choir by saying that it is stunning.

When you trade a car in the dealer also gets the input tax credit on the trade in value. This is why they want to run the trade through them. This plus the $500. fee = easy money for the dealer.

Thanks everyone!
Gotta say, it's the "support" I got here that kept me moving forward even when there was some doubt

You like the 997 over the 996?

I think I like the S

Those sport seats look uncomfortable though, should probably trade them for my normal seats
