Default Worth $500+ in insurance for a couple of winter drives??

Depressing news on all the brushes with the law. Out for a drive today and it was cop free. Ended up back in the garage with 8,911 miles on the odo so I guess this is an omen to park for the winter and save a whack on my insurance and maybe tickets! Looking forward to the 15 year mark when insurance costs plummet and there is no option to pull the plug while in storage............will miss those sunny dry winter days tooling down the Bayview Extension like I used to in the Z for a quick run on the DVP....time to concentrate on skiing.

look at the bright side as you pointed out .. you can give your license a rest till March/April . That is the way i looked at it . I take it easy in my other cars and i am not so much a target so ny the time i roll her out again athere is another 4 months off any tickets ..
By the time Rod puts his 911 back on the road he will be within 6 months of being ticket free on his license.

It's kinda funny how we are all in this "ticket-management" mode - mentally calculating how many months we need to survive with out getting busted!

It is so easy to get a ticket in these cars... wind it through the RPM range in a couple of gears just to hear the beautiful sound and the next thing you know you are a "stunt driver".

And that is just in an '80's Carrera. I honestly have no idea how the guys here with the REALLY fast cars (like Zookie and Ronan) can drive ANYWHERE without being over the limit!

Well you know we should really stop complaining mount a campaign to raise speed limits. Get the CAA with the backing of all of the car clubs and dealers.......squeaky wheel gets the grease!

Hey Ron: It does look as though you got in quite a few miles though before storage this year. Exactly how much did you do? Glad to know that another one of the crew was not zinged for a speeding ticket this year. Happy skiing! - Glenn

Wish I had been so lucky with no tickets. I got nailed in the TT a couple of months ago. Pretty obvious that the guy just wanted to look at and talk about the car.

Put on over 500 miles including 10 or so yesterday...just packed her away for the winter Glenn. Pretty ruff ride with the cold Contact Sport 2's on our crappy roads. Unless we get a better mayor maybe we should be RAISING our ride heights a couple of inches......ya, a Dakar Rally mod.....

I try to enjoy all the seasons, except for the rainy one....

- teaching the little ones to ski - going to Colorado for a conference and taking the family with me ( my dime)
- teaching the little ones to skate - http://www.pjbj.ca/labels/rink.html
- the odd rip around the countryside on the snowmobile http://www.pjbj.ca/2009/01/gone-for-...bile-ride.html

- saving the $100/month for the 3 months on the Porsche pretty much covers the insurance on the sled.

I've also had my share of run-in's with the HTA, but knock on wood, I'm almost clear of them all now.

Ron, you should just pick up a set of winter tires and drive it on clear days. You really are not saving $500 considering the fact that in the warm months you would drive your car just a little more. Your $ per klm driven really doesn't change too much. The only factor that should stop you is trying to keep a dark colour clean in the winter. It's such a PITA!

No way guys! This car's gotta last me over 30 years (I hope to last that long!). Receiver's got the right idea...C4S in the winter. If I need a winter car it's going to be an older WRX STi..................... Merry Christmas.

C4S in the winter? Yeeeks! not mine..... There were only 8 of mine that were imported into Canada. I agree with the idea of the Subaru though and I drive mine year around. :-)

What makes your C4S so rare?
