Default Canadian Tire Power Box 800

I've been waiting for this Power Box 800 to go on sale at CT, but no luck.
Does it ever go on sale?

Hey Barrington, not to burst your bubble but I had the Power Box 700 and it only lasted a year and a half, then one day the low charge indicator lit up and that was it. I followed the charging and maintenance instructions and only used it sparingly, once to boost the 944 and a couple more times when the power went out, it died without me getting much use from it.

Just go to the store and the dept manager can look it up on the stock computer and tell you when they will go on sale and how much.

Personally i think this is a case of looking to invent something that people might buy rather than filling a need. I have lots of cars to jump from in an emergency and I have a battery charger with car star ability . That's all you need really for household. i think for the amount of times you use this it would not be worth the maintanance and storage.

Thanks all.

Re: reliability/longevity, I'm going to roll the dice on this one. I still have
a 700A booster pack from CT that is at least 16 years old and still boosting
cars!!! I wouldnt believe it myself if it wasn't me who purchased it.

The Power pack i'm looking at will be for a different use. I have a snake-eye
motion triggered digital video camera/recorder that I want to place in
the storage locker of my condo. Without breaking my padlock, somebody
pulled at the corner of the cage-door, squeezed their arm in and took
a very nice 20yr singlemalt that I had hidden among some sheets & shoes.

The draw isn't large for my recorder, so I was hoping the Power pack
could handle 2 days (weekends) of use in between recharging. As I said,
it only records when motion is detected.

I dunno...thought I'd give it a shot.

Thanks for your replies! I'll take the advice of chatting with the manager.

I've always wanted one of these too. Is there a version that is known to work well?
I'm always trying to start boats, gen sets, and various cars. The P is a known battery eater and if my battery dies I can't get to it without boosting the inside panel to trigger the hood release, soooo seems like a good idea to me.
My P dealership uses them, I saw a stack of them ready to deploy in the service office.

I bought one older than that, used it once, warrenty ran out, it never worked again. Mine was a waste of money. I bought a trickle charger for something like $11, it has been money well spent.
