Introducing my new ride

Now for the specifics: it's a 2000 Boxster with 73K miles (US car, from Florida, which was confirmed by the amount of sand I vacuumed from the floor mats). It's arctic silver on black. It's in pretty good conditions, a few scratches here and there, but nothing that my recently acquired Porter Cable and Phil's secret list of products cannot take out). It has a couple of nice options, such as full leather, Hi-Fi sound system and PCM Nav system (useless because from what I gather there is no CD with Canadian maps for the first generation of PCM... oh well, I will live with this big screen TV in the middle of the dashboard). The car has a brand new top and has obviously been very well maintained mechanically (it feels, sounds and drives beautifully, it's bone dry underneath with none of the RMS/IMS leak usually found on older Boxsters). My intent is to use the car at the track as soon as possible, and as a week-end/summer toy when I am not at the track. See you guys on Saturday morning for a closer encounter…

Did you pick it up in the states?
I was in the process of buying one in Virginia in May. The owner got some stimulus money and changed his mind. I wanted to turn it into a spec.
What are your plans.

Sort of: Boxster Spec is limited (for now) to the 2.5 liter engine ('97 to '99). But eventually, as I improve my driving skills, the car will transform into a proper track car (strict diet, roll cage, hard top, bigger brakes, R-compound tires, coilovers, GT3 suspension components, lightweight flywheel,...). For now I can drive the car "as is" on the track

I bought it locally, from the guy who imported it last year along with a Cayenne S. At today's price level for Boxsters in Toronto, I don't think it is worth going south of the border anymore. And yes, it will turn it into some kind of spec inspired car, step by step as my driving skills improve.
