Cmass:

I spent a few months looking before I bought my 993 earlier this year, and found there's not much of a selection of 964's or 993's in Canada. So you're probably going to have to get one out of the U.S.

But at least with most years of 964's you won't have to deal with RIV, (as mentioned above) so the workload is significantly reduced. Alpine Autowerks is an authorized inspection facility, so Marc can do your out of province inspection for you.

Good luck.

Really? I thought the 964 Carrera 4 were good in the snow.... I am actually leaning that way for my next car. Thoughts?

James: the older cars were not designed to drain the salt and crap the way that the new cars are (not just pcars) so the older ones get it trapped in the body and causes corrosion and rust all the aluminum gets pitted. from my experience if you ever have to work on an older car that has seen winters in makes the job much more difficult and less enjoyable. IMO if you love an older car don't drive it in winter in Ontario.

Humph... but I thought the galvanized body was the ticket...

When are you going to take me for a blast in your 993? That's the only thing that will make me want one even more than I do now.

Only for so long. I already have one rust hole and some rust in another spot. Judging from the size it's from one of the PO. Galvanization will only do so much for so long.

Ontario sucks for cars. Galvanization, undercoating, oil spraying will only delay the rust.

I wen tto the PCA home page and searched the classifieds. You can get some really nice stuff from down south. You can also check out these sites in the US.

www.theaircooledguys.com - some really cool rare stuff.
www.parcars.com

I ended up doing all of that and finding my car in my home town. Go figure!
