Do P-Cars get pulled over more often?

Do P-Cars get pulled over more often?
I just recently got a Cayenne from the states, it still has NY state license plates while we wait for the Title to import the car.
I was driving home this afternoon after picking up my wife (I also had my 14month old daughter in the back). I see a police cruiser up the road & he starts driving. Everyone goes slow (60km/h zone). I'm 2 car lengths behind, I can see him looking back at me, he slows down & once I pass him he turns on his siren.
His reason for pulling me over was "someone in a white van complained that I was following too closely". (I drive like a granny with my daughter in the car & get passed all the time.) Secondly, I saw him before he started driving, he wasn't talking to anyone.
I understand he's doing his job, so I didn't give him a hard time about the BS story & co-operated. Although it kind of freaks me out a bit they can make up stories like that to pull people over.
My question is, is it because I own a Porsche now, or is it because I had NY plates? I've never been pulled over before for a random check like that.
Do you guys experience this often?

nope.
most of my tickets have been in little winter beater mazda's and honda's. the porsche lets me get away with a lot more in my area.
markham cops are particularily picky tho man.
they pulled over my buddy in his rx-7, popped te hood and didn't even know what the f*ck a rotary engine was so they wasted about an hr or so of his time while they consulted the guides and didn't issue him a single ticket.
zookie on the other hand gets away with murder in his C4S out in the burbs

I do have front license plate & I even turned on the parking lights & fogs so they can't complain about DRL.
I have noticed my # of tickets have gone up since moving to Markham. (3 tix in 2 yrs vs 2 tix in my previous 15yrs)
I guess it was the NY plate. I'm hoping I get away from all the hassle (I use to drive a red Mazda3) once I get my Ontario plates.

I've only been pulled over once - for not having the license plate on the front. Actually, since I got this new bumper, I just made a colour photocopy of my ft plate and taped it onto the front inside windshield haha. We'll see how long that will last before I get the $105 notice...
