Default Porsche 993 Undergoing Colour Conversion

The video is in German. But the technique is really neat. They are using a special 3M wrap to re-colour the car. Its called "foiling".

Never seen it done on a street car before only on taxis/race cars and corporate cars like the Red Bull Mini. Its a bit long but worth the watch.

Check out Autoblog or Jalopnik for the guy who changed his BMW 335i from black to white. It cost him 1,300 Euro.

Interesting process. I guess as long as it is applied correctly, there isn't any paint damage. A matte khaki green 911, though? I saw 4 of the Red Bull Minis in convoy - each with 2 Red Bull babes - in St Pete's FL 2 weeks ago on 275. Cool concept.

That video did inspire me to change my avatar . . .

There is someone. He turned a black corvette to a flat black corvette for someone on the corvette forum in a few hours. I'll get the info and post it.

I have worked with all the production companies that do the buses, streetcars, GO trains, etc. It see if I can get a ballpark cost too. If you wanted to do something funky (ie: like the camo 996) will see what that would cost as well.

I often wondered if that camouflage 911 some of us have seen around town was done using this technique. His paint (or wrap) was totally flat.

For wrapping I use speedpro imaging, the guy to speak to is Derek, here's the website with address info. Tell them to mention Steve with the black vette, they'll work with them on price.

These are the guys that did Steve's Corvette.

i have a contact who does vynil printing, commercial printing and car wraps and installs.
his price just went down this year too.

if anyone is interested speak to scot@sjimedia.com and tell him Omar sent you and that ur from rennlist and he'll hook you up.

i see it as a pretty cool way to keep your car fresh and interesting while protecting it from winter crud (like the guy in germany who had his 599 flat blacked so he can drive it all year).

i wanna be like zookie and change colors every year

zook, want me to ask him how much for a guards red wrap?

a 996 C4S full wrapped to red would be 1700-1800$ installed with 4 year warrenty. a colorchip/swatch would be needed to match to exactly what color you want.

zook..do a brighter version of BMW Pheonix Yellow. it would look wikid.
