Default 9 demerit pts, interview

I just received a letter from the ministry of transportation advising me that I have accumulated 9 demerit points and must report for an interview.

Has anyone had one of these interviews? Anything I should or shouldn't say?

Thanks,
Stan

I've had to go for one 5 years ago.

If you don't attend they suspend your licence.

Just agree when they say speeding is bad. That is the primary focus. Otherwise just sit there and keep your mouth shut.

Yup, my massage therapist has lost his license 5times for speeding. He says just say how you know it's irresponsible and that driving is a privilege and you understand the dangers of speeding etc.

ouch!!...guess it's too late to get yourself a lawyer? Might have been cheaper and less painful in the long run than the gang rape you're going to go through at the hands of your insurance co.

I also went through it several years ago. It's a rather useless information seminar. Hell, one lady was typing on her laptop throughout almost the entire thing. I highly doubt she was taking notes...

I went throght it back in '93, just before starting college. Back then it was a one-on-one intrvew and there was not much I could say that the JP (I beleive it was a JP) haven't heard before. I just nodded and agreed with everything he was saying. When you hear the line" Each offence is a brush stroke on your portrait...." you better shut up and sit down!

I agree. In Alberta what do they do if you lose 9 points?

Just tell them you're always in a hurry and speed limits are way too low.

You should convince the your interogator that you have seen the light and now have found religion and you Repent, repent and repent some more.

Then you will have a chance to burn up the other 6 points or hope you get some back before the magic 15 total.

Good luck, sad place this has become.

You need 15 points to lose your license for one month. The max demerits you can get in one ticket is 6 points for something really fast like 50 kmh over the limit........

Pff. Over zealous police chiefs are the least of our worries. You ever studied our provincial gov't? Highest tax base in the country and probably only the 2nd worst managed.

Arrive 15 minutes late... and use the excuse that you were driving the speed limit all the way to the appointment!

This is why I have absolutely no respect for our justice system at all.

Who the **** gave some stinking JP or ******* judge any right to lecture a citizen for speeding when they let out murders, drug dealers, multiple repeat offenders etc out with just a slap of the wrist.

This is getting just too ****ed up and its only getting worst.
