2007 was a big year... so hopefully not too much beyond rubber and maintenance items... Probably a new clutch at some point, so a LWFW at the same time... when the motor lets go a 3.6 will go in, along with GT3 brakes (spindles, hubs and whatever else has to be replaced to to that correctly) but I hope thats not a 2008 item!

I'm doing a new clutch next month, and generally getting ready for the good weather. I'll pull the summer wheels and tires out of the shed at the same time and slap them on. I'm running narrow body 997 wheels on my 996 C4S, and even with the 15 mm spacers on the rear it looks pretty lame - still in about an inch or more. BUT, I'm feeling that the spacers will make the stock wheels look good, and I'm going to add 7 mm at the front. Then, it's off to my first track day on March 23rd. Woo Hoo!

There is a guy I play tennis with that owns a body shop which specializes in fuchs. He tell me that the metal is so dense and really polishes up well. I think he said it was $125.00/wheel, but I am also sure he would give me a deal. I think Carconies is cheaper, but i am not sure of the quality. Next time I see the guy, I will ask him the name of his body shop.

Sweetness!
Anybody know how much I can expect for a new paint job on my 944, keeping it the same colour (champaign)? With me doing as much prep work as possible (filling some scratches, pulling out as many seals as I can (or whatever other prep work is necessary)?

For refinishing wheels ... I had Frank at Gibson Vander Fine Automobiles, #7 - 191 Caldari Road, Concord 905-669-9647 repair the curb rash and refinish my CLK rims. He did a fantastic job. They were totally hacked, he charged $200 per rim. He doesn't straighten rims though. Jumper I think you originally recommended him to me.
Collision Networks, 140 Doughton Road, Concord 905-669-1665 straightens, repairs and refinishes rims. Depending on the work required, in the $125 - 200 range I believe. Also do a great job.

Better check ahead of time . I am not positive about this but I thought I read somewhere about spacers not being allowed at the track .. but I could have well imagined it .. :-)

they should be allowed man, lots of cars run them (even some of the touring GT cars) in order to get different wheels/tires to fit

Hey Omar wasn't there an issue tha if you use spacers you don't get enough of the stud coverd by the bolt and could snap ? Does this ring a bell with anyone ?
