You guys must be pretty bored to talk this long about changing a battery.
Sorry, couldn't resist :-)

Zookie, I can't image how you put that together in your mind. Though I guess it is okay to be gay now.

I could talk about changing a battery all day - I don't know how to do it and just want to make sure I don't kill myself or the car.

Wish me luck, i'm going to try it today!

You'll be fine. I did this last weekend after I finally found the right battery at Partsource. It is Exide Performance Group 48. The 49 is much bigger and the 47 has a lower CCA rating so I decided to go with the 48; Thanks for the info zookie.
Funny thing was I went to the Partsource in Brantford first and the sales guy told me they don't carry a Group 48. I said "Could you check; I'm pretty sure you do" and he says nope, we don't carry it. Then I happened to drive by the Brampton store a couple of days later and thought "why not check?" They had it in stock. Go figure.
Anyway, old one comes out no problem and new one is a simple installation. Also had no problem entering the radio code. Everything works great now!
Regards,

I feel emboldened by all this online support. With any luck I'll have the car out tomorrow.

Where do I find the radio code?

Radio code for me is a card that is in the leather case for the manual.
I've heard it could be a sticker located under the hood.

Yup, the Porsche Radio Code card ... it's silver.

I just checked the sticker under my hood ... no code on mine.

I just read all the specs, and Optima has better CCA s (770 versus 550),
and higher storage (90 minutes versus 75) at lighter weight 31.7 Lbs (6Lbs lighter than Odyssey).
Red Top D35.
