ran a 1:31:56 in a stock RX-8 with badly chunking front tires.

how do you guys handle turn one? do you get on the brakes or just lift, go for the apex and then get on it again?

At turn one I would hit 196...early and soft on the brakes, drive thru the apex always on the throttle.

At Solo 1 I was chasing a couple of tenths and went off at turn one...at around 200, it was late into the weekend slightly off line touched the marbles and the ABS came on.. did not bother turning in, it seemed like it would never stop, it was kind of funny, I disappeared into the weeds for a while.

thanks for the line advice..ive been doing it backwards...brake hard and as late as possible but that much have been the problem..bleeding off too much speed.

Omar, I'm in the same boat. The turn in feels fast for that corner, but I always arrive at the apex on full throttle, because I'm going way too slow. I guess it's just visually deceiving, maybe. But 196? Maybe if there were a tornado-force tail wind pushing my car

That 427 Z06 is a rocket! I using the same MPSC tires..you would be quicker with the Kumho V710.

My Z was an 01 with an LPE 383, 420 rwhp. It now races in the Canadian Toyo series, white car, third over all.

196 was the quickest I was doing with the radar gun at the braking point, easy on the brakes, as soon as I would turn in back on the throttle, you want to be on the power as soon as you can, that's a long straight.

Thru the bicycle path (mid track narrow), there is some time to be had, do not bother pulling to the right, go straight for the ninety degree left turn and remember to go slow, in the next slow parts.

TMP is hard to get a quick lap time with a car I don't know how you could ever pass anyone. My best was 1:18 on my race prepped CBR600RR when I was into track days, but it is one of those tracks that the bikes are way faster.
