Car storage in Toronto? How long does winter last?
Hello all,
I'm moving to Toronto for work for at least a year or so and would like to bring my 993 Turbo. Having five tracks within a few hours of Toronto has me salivating like kid eating pablum... I've dreamed of going to Mosport and now I'll finally get a chance!
When is a good time to bring the car from Vancouver to Toronto and how long does winter usually last out there? My basic research shows Dec to Mar is pretty bad, then it's clear sailing. I can store the car in Vancouver until March and then truck it down at that time. Does that sound like a good plan?
Where are good places to get the car serviced? And if anyone has a 1bdrm+den in downtown they want to rent to a fellow Rennlister, let me know, my budget is around $1600/month.
Thanks!

Call Mario at Heimrath 416-752-7280 for service questions and storage needs
Check the Toronto Star website for apartment listings...tonnes of vacancies in condos downtown so you will have lots of choices.
Winter could go to end of March...who knows....call Mario on the shipping as well, he does alot of international shipping of Porsches..
Good luck

PM an address and I'll have a look at the local rag and send any thing in the range, however the toronto star is on line and I found the pick of the crop in there, also 'virtual listing' or 'virtual real estate' has a comprehensive search engine. I commute from the beaches when I stay downtown but like many I have found living outside is preferable. The winther isn't exactly harsh in the city, roads are cleared regularly and the biggest damage is from the salt but even that is bearable, however I have what is sometimes refered to as a piece of exquisit german engineering (but in my house it's a plain old 944) so if I had a car like yours I probably wouldn't drive it in the snow, also the arseholes in explorers and 'that POS got a hemi', would love to put you in the side of the road.
edit cause I'm an idiot
