Default Porsche maintenance programs worth it?

In your experience, is getting the Porsche annual service program worth it? Or is it better to just go to an Indy shop to get all the routine maintenance service done?

Not worth it IMO. It’s just how they try to keep you tied to their service dept.

Not for everyone. I tend to have them because I like the dealer relationship and if something really serious goes sideways then I have a guaranteed result. Not the cheapest solution, but for me the most comfortable. Also useful if you are intending to buy something on allocation that is hard to get.

I recently took delivery of a 992.2 and the only plan I purchased was the 3 year prepaid maintenance & schedule package. I'm sure oil changes can be done for far cheaper outside but I don't know of any reputable indy's and I figured since I'm under warranty, might as well keep the relationship w/ the dealers.

Finance manager really pushed for the tire & rim protection plan but I'll rather use that $ for a set of aftermarket.

To each their own.

I ended up buying the maintenance package as well. For me it wasn’t purely about the dollars—though it definitely works out cheaper than paying service by service at the dealer—it was also about building a stronger relationship with my dealership. I don’t have a long history with the brand yet (now on my 3rd Porsche), and I’m hoping to eventually work my way into one of the GT cars. The dealership I use has been great, and while it’s not the cheapest option compared to an indy, the peace of mind and connection to the dealer make it worthwhile in my case.

They are offering prepaid brake rotor and pad replacement for $3xxx, seems like a good deal. Looking at rotors and pads, it's adding up to $3000 USD already. Anyone go for it?

The pre paid service makes sense. Far cheaper then pay as you go service at the dealer.

The rim and tire is a no brainer to me. Calculate just one new tire plus potentially a rim costs. Also covers aftermarket set.

don't let this be you.

I have to ask but I feel there is a story with this wheel. Ignore the long bolt at the top. Could you share what happened, please?

Its off a Performante. Dont know the story other then casually driving when the bolt took out the rear tire and rim.

My wife has the macan gts with the 21" spyders. 2 tires have been replaced and one rim. Id fear to see what the porsche magnesium wheels are to replace.
