The EV industry is still going through it's growing pains. We need at least another 8-10 years for infrastructure to catch up, and both battery and charging tech to mature and settle by at least the 3rd to 4th generation of EVs from major manufacturers for it to be mainstream.
Think of it similar to the smartphone industry. Iphone came out 2007. Competitors (Android) with different iterations hit mass market 2010-11. We've reached peak smartphone in 2017. Now just incremental upgrades but nothing fundamental/groundbreaking.
That's my take on the current EV market at it stands...

Don't agree with your analogy. Smart phones have many benefits. EV's have none. They are expensive, inconvenient, require unaffordable infrastructure and are worse for the environment than ICE. Can only see them continuing to be a novelty.

1000%
It's a very imperfect product and they are not saving the planet. I call it a fad.
Charging speeds are getting better and battery tech is continuing to evolve rapidly. New Taycan can charge over 300kw. Its funny i took above vinfast vf8 on a 2300km usa road trip with zero issues. The “range” or “endurance” was outlasting my early middle aged bladder ha!
I was also just in Iceland and they are living in 2035. Converting gas stations into EV charging
