This is very disturbing. I always assumed that is a car was sold by the manufacturer as fully compliant with the law than there was no issue. I understand that if you modify the car aftermarket than you are exposed if it fails the noise test. My cars are bone stock. NY generally is a nasty place in which to drive anyway, lots of police enforcement, big fines, and the points travels over the border. I will be interested if this regulation travels.

This has been happening in Vancouver for quite some time.

Porsche owners were notably hit hard.

I was under this impression also. I thought European noise regulations were amongst the strictest.
I also thought if you met a Countries regulations for import that was it, and you were good.

But reading into this, provinces or even municipalities could have there own restrictions and subject the user to prosecution.

Us rennlisters need our own Lawyer..

okay we already have one but we need one that works for Cheap ...

Better Call Saul.

Vancouver was bad for this a few years ago. I had this in a stock Fiat 500 Abarth years ago in Vancouver while (correctly) in HoV lane. Ironically, he was in front of the car all the time and I turned the car off straight away. Letter and pictures from Fiat, got thrown out straight away. Common issue with Abarth as well.

Hope I don't get stopped with my Soul exhaust tips LOL

True, that. Of note- NY and Vancouver (along with the rest of the left coast) are renowned WEF Reset supporters- we all need to move to Alberta or Florida to drive in the future!
