Yeah I read about this too, ridiculous. Anything over 85 db gets an $800 fine and after go up to $2500. 85 db is not that loud, what about the GT3? Apparently he sold the stock 997 and bought an Acura Integra. Well I won’t have to worry about it with my stock 996 turbo, could wake up a mouse with my exhaust.

Agreed.

I have an M2 Comp with a valved exhaust and even when closed I'd get a ticket.

In the open position I'd be denied bail...

If not already done so, Waze should be updated for sound "cameras"

I now no longer get in a car without Waze running

Waze is excellent in heavily travelled areas and I use it also. However in places like Western NY my guess is that the gendarmes monitor it also . I have had several surprises where the cruiser had moved from where Waze had identified it. Obviously very quiet roads or times reduces its efficiency. Still, a very useful tool.

A large group from the Rennsport Region was out at CTMP with the UCR track weekend and I learned it was because of the sound limitations at Le Circuit Mont Tremblant and they can't run their cars there. Ouch!

Just set it to get the Harley riders first, and I'm open to it...

Porsche owners were notably hit hard.
VPD came out and said all officers will receive re-training. When it was proven that they were stopping people with OE exhausts. Namely Porsche.

I suppose you mean "couldn't"? Better make sure you're not on boost -- I got over the noise limit on a track with my stock 996 Turbo because of the turbo whistle. Learned to back off the throttle a bit where the checkpoint was.

LCMT has had strict sound rules for nearly 20 years at this point. Stock GT3 can easily bust sound there these days, even worse on a day with low cloud cover. The sound monitoring system is “wired” directly to either cityhall or the police station directly.

I was expelled in May 2023 with my 2020 Carrera S (original exhaust) because I had exceeded 92dB in the afternoon!

So on a slightly brighter note we unfortunately recently had a speed camera installed in-front of the school like 30 seconds from our house, but you can avoid it by taking a side street. I naturally took this route with the kids, PSE open with a Sharkwerks by-pass having a blast and isn't there a cop sitting in a parking lot just waiting for dumbasses like me.....He actually gave me a thumbs up as we drove by!

Hell their Stereos and bad taste in music should get them a ticket before they even pull away on the bike.

i think if they stick to the " no modified vehicles" im okay with it .. i don't want ridiculous crackle tunes and straight piped anything. I'm perfectly okay with anyone getting ticketed or towed , because they want to sound cool so modified the exhaust.

But this ridiculousness of ticketing stock cars is crazy, go fix it at the front end, if its federalized as good from the manufacturer into the country , then leave them alone.

This is a "charter challenge" i would get behind .. lol
