My old Z is in miles, so I like the 993tt in miles too. My subconscious translates to kms. I think you have to be careful with any car. Mine came through a well-known indy dealer and was PPI'd by a well-regarded indy tech. Still missed/hid a bit of paint on an 8200 mile car. I might have rejected it had I known, but at the bottom of the recession in 2009 it would have been a huge mistake and financial blunder. I hate those! Remember Bre-x? Just get the best car you can and if it's a US delivery, it'll be easy to sell if you ever decide to. Oh, and Onami is my go-to on buying and selling.

Summer 2010 and with the Canuck buck slightly above the US equivalent I had the opportunity to buy a one owner, Arctic Silver/black, manual 993 C2 coupe with 24000 miles for $29K US. It was like new inside and out with all services done at the dealer. I turned it down as I already had two 993 C2 coupes.

My first 993 was purchased in 2007 in the US for US$28,000 on ebay. 96 one owner C2 in Arena Red and black full supple leather interior - 10,000 miles and manual. Second in 2008, 97 C2S with 12,500 miles for US$50,000. These are the 2 cars in my avatar.

It's a shame in way. Soon, we'll never see a nice old Porsche just tooling down the road. They'll all be locked up like the nicer muscle cars now.

Mine is the only 993tt I've seen on the road for years. Had her out for a good run on Wednesday. As you know Mark, 993tt brother Cris has his up for sale. When you think of the almost $40K a year before tax income opportunity cost, not to mention the $5K+ annual insurance, he's pretty sensible selling.

I used a broker. I was stopped at the customs booth for less than 30 seconds. The export/import stuff is all done online before one arrives at the border.
Yes, my buyer had to pay 2.x% duty, but that’s rounding error when they are paying in dollars US dollars.
