Default 2009 Cayman Trade In Value?

Hi,

Tried To look on line, not much information. What is the trade in value for a 2009 base Cayman with manual transmission. Km’s would be 135,000 - 140,000.

Thanks for any input.

I'm looking at $30k for an 07 Cayman S with 82k on it but fairly well optioned - sport chrono, sport seats/wheel etc. if that helps any.

Default I’m

Thank you for the replies. I have been following what people have been asking for them on various publications. I am curious about what a dealer would give on a trade in?

Used to be something like a Canadian Bluebook.

A dealer will bend you over the hood of one of the cars in the showroom and insert a 6 inch diameter pipe into your rectum.

If the car has no accident history, good service records, and is in good condition, I would say $30-35K. Very few 987.2 cars are on the market.

Just call and ask 'em - or swing by the dealer - to get the number. It'll be absurdly low, but if the car is in good condition, has maintenance records, and no significant accident history you can easily sell a manual 987.2 without much hassle. Trading any Porsche sports car (911, Boxter or Cayman) to a dealer should be your last resort. I sold my 987.2 Cayman S on Rennlist a while back in literally a couple of days to a U.S. buyer for 35% more than the dealer would pay. Same story with a 911 GTS; sold it in less than a week for 40% more than the dealer was offering.

Of course you have to factor in the difference in tax savings as well but if you're talking 30%+ in private sale price 17%+ (assuming ON 13%) goes in your pocket. If you can sell on the likes of RL then I assume you also avoid the vast majority of the time waters that come with using trader, Kijiji etc.

There will be a big difference depending on what province you live in. There's no tax of any sort on a private sale in Alberta, and no provincial sales tax on a new car...only GST and luxury tax (if applicable). 100% of what you sell your used car for goes in your pocket.

Great replies. The car I was looking at was going to be traded in at the end of the week. It sold in about a day. 987.2 is a desirable car. Lots of people want one.
