Sorry about the duplicate IMs! I got distracted as I was writing my first one, and thought I had neglected to sent it - not seeing it in my outbox reinforced that belief. Anyway, looking forward to your response.
I absolutely love the way you had the rear fenders of your gray 944 flared, as described in your thread from 2010, and it would be perfect for my application. It looks like you live in Canada, which is a long way from where I live, so I was wondering if you could describe the procedure your guy used so I can pass it on to a local body shop. It isn't clear from your post that includes the picture - did he have to cut the existing fender and attach the flare, or was he somehow able to bend the fender enough to achieve the final result? If so, it's amazing he could have moved that much metal without cracking the paint! If he had to cut the fender, did he buy the flare (if so, do you know from where?), or did he fabricate his own?
I've been looking for options as to how to slightly flare my 968 track car's rear fenders, and the work you had done on your gray 944 in 2010 would be perfect for my application. I believe you live (or at least did at the time you posted your thread on 944 fender flaring) in Canada, which is a long way from me, but could you tell me as much as you understand about the process the guy who flared your rear fenders used? Did he cut the fender and add the subtle flare? If so, is the flare made of metal, or fiberglass? And if this is the approach he used, did he buy the flares, or did he make them himself? Or did he somehow manage to do it by stretching the existing fender (seems unlikely, given the amount of metal that would have to be moved)? Sorry for all the questions, but I absolutely love the look you ended up with. Thanks; I'll also resurrect your thread by replying to it.
Hey James, saw the thread on your fender stretching...
Really like how they look.
Your plates look like Ontario, i am based in Toronto, would you be able to tell me who done them for you?
Cheers
Nick
