$320k is a lot. But no luxury tax because “used” so a great deal!

I'm interested in a Carrera T. 2019 base was $116,500. 2023 base is $132,000 - 13.3% increase over 4 years. The inflation rate over the same period is 15%.
I too am interested in a 992 T. Base price is now $141,500 or over $150K when taking into account the additional "luxury tax" (I'm beginning to find those two words offensive). My lightly optioned 2019 T had a pre-tax ("only" PST and GST) price of $124K. A 992 T built with the exact same equipment (now the Race-tex roof lining is a $1600 option) is just under $170K before GST/PST but with the federal luxury tax included as I do not see a way around it.

That is very expensive for a base 911 with a few trick parts...

I know I paid to much(all though a killer dealer) for my Carerra T because I’ve always wanted it.

if prices drop, I’m going to make myself feel better by finding a 12-16 cayman s to daily driver for a good deal. I’ve had many wins over the past few years buying and selling cars, one loss isn’t the end of the world for a car I listed after for so long!

Agreed. The T is not worth the money...it's not a "GT" car and doesn't benefit from the bespoke GT chassis...nevermind a special engine.

It drives just like a regular 992. Which is great but not worth this premium.

i thought the whole benefit of the T was a "lower" price , as the 911T s of the early air cooled days tended to be the stripped down cheaper ones. I assumed the newer Ts were this re envisioned by Porsche marketing dept.

I have a new T and I love it, problem is all new Carrera models are now more expensive. The T sits price wise between the base and the S, so not much of a premium. A new Porsche 911 optioned out will likely cost you $160K and up, and that's before taxes. As for the experience of driving the T, with the goodies priced in, it is a very well reviewed car (Evo, Car magazine etc. 5/5 stars) and as a newer car model gives a great analog feel when ordered with the MT. Perfect for the road but not the track. 992 GT3 perfect for the track and not the road. Pick your poison. My track days are behind me.

The Carrera T is the one that I would buy as I don't need more HP and would like a manual transmision. Basically, it is about $1,500 more than a similarly optioned Base Carrera, however you get PASM, Sports Seats Plus, the GT Sports Steering Wheel and the option of a manual transmission for that extra money - plus the minor exterior upgrades/changes.

This morning's rate decision will no doubt have further negative impact on used pricing and demand for new. Or less impact on used pricing as lux tax is not a factor.

In the Porsche website inventory search we are starting to see some new inventory for 991s and 781 platform cars. Stuff that was near unthinkable a year ago. They're bloated builds like a $194k Carrera T ( lux tax NOT included) but still, it's a start...

991s and 781? You must mean 992 as 991s would be used and not have Lux tax.

Market is flooded. Tons of cars. Getting cold calls on things. Dealers trying to suppress it by not posting all cars for sale. People are also not taking delivery of their cars that were ordered last fall.

Quick Reply: Tons of 911’s for sale!
