One additional factor is global demand and from China in particular. Porsche is unlikely to allow an inventory buildup in one market if they have a shortage in another so it would take a global slump to really affect pricing.

As long as the luxury tax is in place, the used values will be higher. End of story.

Indeed there appears to be quite a few. Usually around 600 911s total on Auto Trader. Over 1,000 now. That said, they've been making more (though delivered fewer the last couple of years). Inarguably there are many sitting at insane pricing. I mean...I can't believe anyone would pay $220K for a 992 C2S. I just don't.

I am picking up my new Carrera T next week purchased at MSRP. I see a big correction in car prices coming later this year. Porsche has already stated that it is planning on increasing production of 992 in the fall. Pandemic plus Ukraine War has put the market in a unique situation, now supply chains have finally adapted. Factor in high interest rates and more unemployment over the next year and the tread will be beneficial to those who are patient.

I wonder what new and used Porsche's are going for in China.

From model year 2020 and up (992) there are more 911's (276) listed for sale than Macan's (149) and Cayenne's (226). Seems a little backwards IMO. Simply put cost of living has caught up, people are vacationing again and prioritizing other things. The sports car market as a whole will be correcting for another 6-12 months.

You have to imagine that anyone that got one at MSRP is also looking at values and wanting to capitalize on them. I know I would...what I did with the ACR.

Get out while the gettin' is good!

I just pulled the trigger on a 2021 992c2s CPO with 4500km. Currently, not too many good deals in the market, and the listing price is way high. I believe the inventory in the market is not moving with those high listing prices.

How much off the asking price?

dealer originally listed for 180k, they lowered it to 170k and I placed my deposit the second day. I believe the car was listed in the market for sale for more than half a year.

I think the MSRP was around 170k back in 2021. No time machine, otherwise I would order one in 2020.
