OT: Office Dress Codes
#48
I typically wear jeans and a button up with a sport coat. I'll swap out jeans for dress pants/slacks if I have an important day in the office.
No tie. Wore it once at my new job earlier this year and immediately noticed it was overkill, lol. But I'm of the belief that over-dressed is always better than under.
Oh, and more important than the brand/cost of your outfit is the actual *fit*. I've started tailoring every jacket/pants I buy and it's been a game changer to how I look.

Again from the view point of an old fart.
Why is it so desirable to wear jeans vs. khakis or light fabric slacks to the office?
In the summer I find wearing my golf pants with their technical fabrics to be way more comfortable than wear jeans.
I get that when it was jeans Fridays it was something out of the norm and a treat but now it is jeans every day so that is no longer relevant.
The bonus of wearing golf pants is I can go straight to the course without changing vs if I wore jeans. Yes my golf club does not allow jeans on the golf course or practice areas.

I started my advertising agency in Ottawa in 1975. I was the business guy, my typical attire for those days was suit and tie. My business partner who was the Creative Director had no such foolish restrictions...one favourite outfit was his Boy Scout uniform.
He can't fit into it now!!!
