Hi Cliff, I used Thorsens when I moved from Vancouver to Toronto and didn't care much for their service. However, they sub-contracted the move to United Van Lines who were great. All the positives in the experience were due to United and all the negatives were due to Thorsens. Try giving your local United Van Lines a call and see if they can do the move.

Try G & S Moving and Storage, did a great job at a fair price for me and several friends of mine over the years.

You could try the Lake Wanaka... they did a fantastic job of bringing my car from Emden to Halifax

The question with moving companies is if something goes wrong, do they make it right. My understanding is the best around the GTA are Bronte Movers and Rawlinson. Not cheap, and expect the bill to come out 20% above quote, but they are careful and make things right.

In consideration that this thread started in 2008, I thought there would of been a technology inflection mitigating the need for moving companies. I'm setting a google calendar reminder to check this thread in 2038 to see if there are any updates.
